Alastair Fletcher was playing the Highland Bagpipes since he had been a child. In the beginning, he had been taught by Angus J MacLellan in the College of Piping. He's competed as a soloist at Oban and Inverness Gatherings, and then he has played when you look at the Toyota, British Caledonian Airways, ScottishPower Pipe Bands.
Into the late 90′s Alastair became Pipe Major of David Urquhart Travel Pipe Band at a time that they were struggling to keep their heads above water. In a single year Alastair switched the band around and led all of them back to competitive success near the top of the Grade One
As a soloist, Alastair was selected to feature in the address of Piping Times during the early 1990s.
As a young apprentice, Alastair struggled to obtain several years in the workshop associated with famous Grainger and Campbell Highland Bagpipe Makers alongside the popular Pipe significant Angus MacDonald.
